Am going to give you some simple yet crucial steps that will help you figure out where to begin. Open some windows, get your tools ready, put on your dust coat and let’s get rolling.

Steps to follow.

• Cover the floor and  furnitures with a cloth to protect them from drips and drops while painting
• line the edges of the wall with painter’s tape to protect any portions of the wall you don’t want to get paint on, like moulding, door and window frames, or doorknobs. Also, remove other wall-mounted accessories and light switch covers, so that you can paint the small portion of the wall beneath them.
• wipe the entire wall to remove dust and grime so that the paint can adhere evenly. Apply setpaints filler with a putty knife and let it sit for 30-60 minutes. Then, sand it down with fine-grit sandpaper to make it flush with the wall
• Primer helps conceal darker paint colors beneath the new coat, and also helps the new coat adhere to the wall. Use a paint brush to prime the edges of the wall and along the corners, then use a roller to work inward toward the centre, using “W”-shaped strokes for even coverage. Paint until the entire wall is coated with Set paints primer, then let it dry for 4-6 hours.
• Mix your setpaint colour of choice paint with clean water for setpaints water based paints  or set paint  thinners for silk paints. Stir to ensure the oils and pigments are combined and also break up clumps, pour your paint into a clean paint tray or a bucket, dip angled brush into the paint and start painting at the edges of the wall, where you taped.
• Coat the wall with a layer of setpaints primer to conceal the old color and help achieve better coverage with the new setpaint colour of choice. Then, apply 2-3 coats of paint the same way.
• Use a glossy paint for areas that need to be cleaned frequently, like kitchens or bathrooms. For living spaces, choose a more comfortable, matte or satin-finish paint, which tend to be more welcoming.
• Also, make sure you have enough paint! A single gallon is usually enough to cover about 400 square feet of wall space. Multiply the length of your wall by its height to find its dimensions. Precautions to take while painting.

1.Keep any leftover paint in the can in case you need to touch up the wall later.

2.Use light to illuminate the room which makes it much easier to spot patchy or uneven paint.

3.If you’re taking breaks between each coat,cover your brushes and rollers with cling wrap to prevent it from drying.

4.Wash your roller and brushes outside in a bucket of warm water and let it air dry overnight.
